OFFICIAL THROWBACK MASCOT2 - BRANDED

So, you’ve made the plunge. You decided to buy a Throwback Metal Fest Ticket (who wouldn’t?!) You’re NUTZO if you don’t get one  (CLICK HERE if you still need a ticket) – 16 bands for $10 is… off- the- charts amazing (see very bottom of page for set times/days of your favorite bands), but now you’re realizing that you’ve got to have a plan. You’re going to Vegas baby, you gotta know where to stay, what to do and how to do it.  What’s the weather going to be like? Where can you stay? Is there public transportation? All those questions and more are answered below…

LOCATION OF THE FEST:

Adrenaline Sports Bar
3103 N RANCHO DR, Las vegas, NV 89130
.
(702) 645-4139

It’s about 14 minutes from Fremont Street & The Strip. The fest occupies a bar called “Adrenaline“- PLENTY of FREE PARKING! There are plenty of locations to choose from for eating and to buy quick smokes within walking distance.

Vegas is  surrounded by mountain ranges on all sides, which act as barriers to the strong flow of moisture from the surrounding area. The elevation is approximately 2,030 ft (620 m) above sea level. You can expect early October weather to be in the neighborhood of low 80s during the day and low 60s at night. Depending on what you’re accustomed to, you may or may not want to be prepared to a bit chilly at night .

HOW TO GET HERE:

If you’re flying, the nearest major airport is McCarran International Airport (LAS). That’s about a 25 minute cab ride from the airport to the venue. You can catch a few buses via transfers from the airport to the venue, but buffer yourself about 90 minutes to do so. The bus lines are 109, 104 & 103 – see the website here: http://www.rtcsnv.com/transit/.  If you’re driving in, there are plenty of carpools available. At the time of this writing, some departure locations include Pasadena, Apple Valley, Corona, Reno, Phoenix, San Francisco & If you’d like to see who else is in the same boat and possibly coordinate riding together, you may want to join our Facebook discussion group for all things Throwback Metal Fest related. CLICK HERE

MORE ON PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:

The RTC website linked in the previous section is Las Vegas’ Public Transpo. You can get a day pass for $6 .

There IS a local taxi service that can get you from the airport to the venue, but expect to pay about $60. Maybe you can put 4 people in this ride to help alleviate costs. Their website is http://www.lvcabs.com/.

If you’re just driving yourself in to Vegas, the venue directions….
Take I-15 N to U.S. Rte 95 Business/N Rancho Dr in Las Vegas.

Greyhound… there IS a terminal located at 200 S Main St in Las Vegas. It’s about a 15 minute cab ride from the terminal to the venue.  CLICK HERE for that information.

WHERE TO STAY:

THEE places to stay are The Fiesta Rancho Hotel & Casino & The Texas Station. It’s a mere mile and a half from the venue, nice places & on the same street even!

Fiesta Rancho – 1.5 mile/30 minute walk
2400 N Rancho Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89130
(702) 631-7000

Texas Station – 1.5 mile/30 minute walk
2101 Texas Star Ln, North Las Vegas, NV 89032
(702) 631-1000

It’s tricky quoting a price for hotels in Vegas. The reason for that is, events in town can impact it – as well as the numerous sites available that can affect the price. It’s not impossible to score a room for $30 a night, but if you don’t want to mess with it and just book it – you can pay as much as $125 a night. If you do a little searching on Kayak, Priceline, etc – you’ll surely find a killer deal. Sometimes calling the hotel direct works to get a good deal too… the bottom line is, spend 30 minutes hunting down a good price – and you’ll have more money for the merch table and drinking at the fest!

NEARBY EATS:

You won’t have to leave the fest to grab some affordable grub.  The bar is not only heavily stocked with all your favorite cocktail mixers, beers and favorite taps… but also houses THE BEST hot wings in Vegas. Wing King also serves strips, pizza and desserts. They’re open til 2am.
If your tastes require dining out, you’re stuck with McDonalds. Jack In The Box, Taco Bell or Wienershnitzel in walking distance. Otherwise, venturing away from the venue is on the agenda!

WALKING DISTANCE CONVENIENCES:

Oh shit! You forgot to stop by the ATM to withdraw some cash…  or you found a hot metal babe, and tonight’s your night, and you need some protection… well, you’re in luck:

AM/PM Mini Mart is right across the street from the venue.

There’s actually an old school cigarette machine right inside the venue! However, if you must experience the whole smoke shop environment – there is one in the Adrenaline parking lot

STUFF TO DO WHILE IN VEGAS:

believe us, that’s enough!
